Angelfire is at www.angelfire.com. It used to be an independent company, but now it’s owned by Lycos.

Angelfire’s main competitors are Tripod (which is at www.tripod.com and also owned by Lycos), Geo Cities (which is at www.geocities.com and owned by Yahoo) and Talk City (which is at www.talkcity.com, partly owned by NBC & Hearst & Cox & Intel & New York Life Insurance & Softbank & John Sculley, and affiliated with Microsoft & Compaq & AT&T & Bell South & Borders). I prefer Angelfire because it’s the fastest, easiest, and least restrictive. If you’re adventuresome, go ahead: experiment with all four of those sites.

Angelfire lets you create any Web pages you wish, as long as you keep your pages “clean”, so they don’t contain:

Unfortunately, Angelfire will automatically put an ad at the top of its Web page. That’s how Angelfire makes its profit: by selling those ads to others. You’re not allowed to include any other paid ad on your page (though you can include free ads, if you wish, and you can advertise your own business).

On Angelfire’s hard drive, you’re allocated a total of 5 megabytes to store your pages. If a page is totally unused for 60 days (never edited by you and never looked at by others), the Angelfire staff reserves the right to delete it.
